Beliefs…

What are your “moneybeliefs?  Do you really know?  Are they yours, or are they you parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, friends, the list goes on an on.  Here’s a recipe to help you figure out where they came from:

Ingredients:

Your money habits!

Directions:

Take five minutes and sit down with a piece of paper, pencil and watch.

Ask this question – where do my beliefs come from?   Put you pencil to paper and write, think about what you heard growing up, what you heard from your friends, from your family…just write it out.

Now, what do you come up with…circle every time you have written down something you believe came from someone else.

Think about it…are they the believes you hold regarding money.  If so, are they good beliefs?  If not, why not?  THINK and REFLECT for the next 24 hours on those beliefs and how they have ruled your life.

What are your daily spending goals?

In order to have money in your life, you need to set daily money goals.   So what are your daily “money” spending habits?  Break through your past practices with money and set a daily spending budget.  It doesn’t need to be complicated, it needs to be simple.  Here’s one:

Recipe:

Ingredients:

What do you usually spend each day?  (Do you know?)

Directions:

1.       Take out your wallet and figure out how much money you have in it.  Count it up…

2.       Remove all credit and/or debit cards from the wallet.  Leave only one which you will use “only” in case of emergency.

3.      Figure out how much money you think you can spend each day from what is in your wallet and/or if you need to go to the bank to cover your weekly expenses.  Get cash…

4.      Now, divide the cash by 7 to figure out how much money you can spend each day.

5.      Put only 1/7 in your wallet each day.

Now go about your week and see if you spend only what’s in your wallet on a given day.  If not, start all over again next week.  If you do this for several weeks, you will start to realize how much you are spending each day and before too long, you will be conscious of your spending habits and will be able to put together a daily budget which will become a weekly, monthly and yearly spending plan.
